Shipping and Receiving Lead

Protofab Engineering is looking for a detailed oriented, highly organized team player to run our Shipping and Receiving department. This is a full-time, permanent, day position. Protofab Engineering is a high-end, prototype to production manufacturer in Blaine, MN. We’ve been around since 1989 and specialize in tight tolerances, difficult features, and fast turn arounds. The industries we serve include medical, aerospace, defense, high technology and many more.

The candidate for this position must have a good sense of organization and an attention to detail. A friendly attitude and professional communication skills are preferred as this position will require direct customer support, as well as information sharing across all levels of management.

Core Duties:

Oversee day to day shipping and distribution process

Data entry and ability to learn various software programs

Coordinate with Manufacturing to plan for outgoing product flow and take appropriate actions

Manage shipping records, track packages, and direct flow of incoming shipments

Maintains staging areas and safeguard the integrity of product within these areas

Review and verify customer orders to ensure accuracy of shipping information

Assemble orders and package goods for safe shipment and accurate delivery

Create packing slips, bills of lading and other documents

Manage and maintain shipping supply inventory

Coordinate with other staff and departments to maintain safe and efficient operations

Select appropriate shipping carriers based on cost, delivery time, destination, and customer or vendor requirements.

Filing, copying, and scanning

Additional duties may be assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

Effectively communicate with other departments, customers, and vendors

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a face paced environment

High school diploma or equivalent

Basic computer knowledge

Ability to follow directions and work well under limited supervision

Have a valid driver license

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 30lbs frequently

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time

Must be able to carry items from one area of the facility to the other

Must be able to kneel, stoop, and climb a ladder to reach upper shelves
