Essential Functions
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including Workers’ Compensation, health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans
- Support new hire processing, terminations, and qualifying life or work events
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and claims resolution
- Oversee COBRA administration, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, timely notifications, and enrollment support
- Assist with open enrollment, including material preparation, informational sessions, and processing enrollments
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and FMLA
- Maintain accurate employee benefits records and enrollment data
- Conduct regular audits of payroll, benefits, and HR programs, recommending corrective actions when necessary
- Manage and track LOA requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Facilitate and track OSHA logs and report data internally
- Administer Workers' Compensation claims, ensuring timely reporting and maintaining communication with employees and insurance providers
- Assist with quarterly and annual audits, including 401(k), FSA non-discrimination testing, 5500s, and EEO-1 reporting
- Assist in creating and maintaining educational materials to promote employee understanding of benefits programs
- Assist with ACA reporting, including 1095-C review
- Process payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal regulations
- Record and verify payroll data, including child support, wage garnishments, unemployment claims, and insurance deductions
- Oversee payroll audits and reconciliations for accuracy
- Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of payroll and HR records
- Provide timely responses to payroll-related employee inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Respond to internal and external HR inquiries and direct complex questions to appropriate senior staff
- Provide administrative support to the HR department as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned in a team environment
- Proficient knowledge of general business practices
- Proficient knowledge of relationship management and conflict resolution
- Proficient communication and presentation skills
- Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and HRIS software
- Proficient attention to detail ability in maintaining accurate and confidential records of employee benefits data, leave status, and claims.
- Proficient ability in generating reports and managing documentation in compliance with company policies or standards and local, state or federal regulations.
- Basic understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits administration, including ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, ACA, and Workers' Compensation laws
- Basic knowledge of payroll processing functions
- Basic ADP Workforce Now experience
- Basic knowledge of processes and technologies used in prototyping and manufacturing.
- Basic experience processing CanadianPayroll preferred

- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Degree or pursing a degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred
- 2 years’ professional office experience required.
- ADP Workforce now experience desired
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computer, phone, other office equipment and handle documents
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch occasionally throughout workday
- Ability to carry or lift up to 15 lbs occasionally throughout workday
