- Position Summary The role of the Quality Engineer Level II is to assist Quality Manager in the maintenance and communication of the companies Quality Management System. Assists with planning and implementation of company procedures and work instructions. Ensures customer quality requirements and ISO standards are met. This position assists the Quality Admin department to assure quality requirements and timely delivery to the customer are met. Provides solutions to issues impacting process and product quality. Works with all functions to ensure quality requirements are recognized and satisfied. Conducts internal audits to ensure continued compliance to QMS and regulatory requirements
- Provide training and/or solutions to inspection personnel
- Ensure effective implementation of NCR and RMA dispositions
- Analyze data, identify areas of opportunity, and assist with improvements activities
- Adept at creating and document First Article Inspections (FAI) and able to train other AS9102 format reporting
- Maintain the Control of Documents and Training records
- Essential functions of Level I
- Assists with completion of FAIs and Compliance Documentation (CoCs, RoHS, REACH, etc.)
- Communicate problem resolution to Quality Manager including assisting with Corrective Action Plan to develop and implement process improvement strategies.
- Assist in creation and maintenance of Quality System Document
- Conduct Internal Audits ant planned intervals to provide information on the effectiveness of the Quality Management system, complete audit reports for Management Review, and assist with implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
- Proficient knowledge of utilizing handheld and surface plate inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges and standard inspection tools such as pin gauges, thread gauges and other applicable tools
- Proficient knowledge of utilizing CMM equipment
- Knowledge of SolidWorks
- Advanced computer skills
- Education & professional experience of Level I
- BA/BS in applicable discipline
- Minimum of 5 years Quality Engineering experience
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, inspection equipment, and handle and feel parts of various size
- Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally throughout a shift
- Ability to push, pull, or lift 50lb moderately throughout a workday
- Ability to focus vision for: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and adjusting to sharp focus
- Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme. Hearing protection will be provided if needed and/or by request
- Exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles
- Moving mechanical parts and vibration
- Exposure to hot metal and machining components
- Manufacturing environment where temperatures drastically change from season to season
- Fast-paced environment
- 1st shift work schedule: 5 – 9-hour shifts (45 hour work week)
- Overtime as necessary (including occasional weekends if needed)
