Job Summary : The Shop Assistant must be an individual who can adapt to a fast-paced environment with an adherence to on-time delivery of parts. This person should have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn and ask questions about the manufacturing processes. This person must be flexible and willing to work in multiple departments as demand requires.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Grinding and orbital sanding of welded parts
- Learn and perform manual deburring operations
- Remove tabs, slag, rust, and sharp edges as needed
- Learn to use various shop tools such as orbital sanders, timesavers, fladder, belt sanders and hand tools at an entry level
- Handle finished items in a careful manner to prevent damage
- Mask parts for paint / powder
- Wash parts in prep for paint / powder
- Clean parts in prep for outside process
- Pack and ship parts
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Function in a safe and reliable manner to prevent personal injury and / or property damage
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be willing and able to wear all required PPE
