Position : Phlebotomist / Lab Tech / CMA / CNA-birth tissue specialist / birth tissue coordinator- Greensburg, PA
Job Summary :
The Birth Tissue Specialist (BTC) manages the collection and donation of birth tissue from hospitals and birthing centers. This role involves building relationships with healthcare providers, obtaining consent, performing tissue collection with sterile techniques, and educating new mothers about birth tissue donation.
Key Responsibilities :
Build and maintain relationships with hospitals and OBGYN offices.
Train donation partners to refer patients and collect birth tissue.
Obtain informed consent and complete Donor Risk Assessment Interviews.
Collect donated birth tissue using sterile techniques.
Maintain accurate medical records in an electronic database.
Communicate with nurses, obstetricians, and medical staff.
Educate new mothers on the birth tissue donation process.
Skills and Knowledge Required :
Computer skills and knowledge of medical record systems.
Proficiency in aseptic techniques and surgical skills.
Knowledge of FDA regulations and AATB guidance.
Strong understanding of anatomy and medical terminology.
Qualifications :
Previous experience in a medical or donation-related role preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
