Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Current 2 years of experience in a hospital or customer service setting
- Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient typing and keyboarding skills
- Current Seasonal Flu Vaccine
- Current TB Skin Test or Chest X-ray
- Patient Scheduling & Information Entry: Schedule patient appointments and input necessary information accurately and efficiently into the system.
- Demographic & Financial Information: Collect and enter demographic, insurance, and financial data with a high level of accuracy.
- Form Explanation & Signature Collection: Clearly explain required forms and obtain necessary patient or guarantor signatures.
- Compliance & Payment Options: Ensure compliance with medical necessity regulations, establish payment arrangements, and screen patients for eligibility.
- Insurance Verification: Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, ensuring all authorizations and notifications are completed within required timeframes.
- Payment Posting & Receipts: Post payments in the system and generate appropriate receipts for patients.
- Account Monitoring & Resolution: Review and resolve patient account issues in a timely manner.
- Professional Communication: Maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, insurance companies, patients, and families.
- EPIC EMR experience, nice to have.
- Professional Development: Promote personal growth by meeting continuing education requirements and serving as a resource to less experienced staff.
