ONCOLOGY Nurse Practitioner
We are seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our growing oncology department in a multi-specialty practice group.
About the Role
- Provides advanced oncologic nursing assessment and documentation, including history and physical for complex hematology/oncology adult patients in the outpatient setting.
- Performs in-patient hospital rounding as per provided schedule, including assessments, appropriate supportive care, blood components, fluid and electrolyte replacements, and all other oncology treatment modalities as prescribed.
- Prescribes pharmacologic treatments and non-pharmacologic modalities as needed.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient-specific needs.
- Monitors the effectiveness of interventions prescribed.
- Facilitates patient transition within and between healthcare settings.
- Provides education to patients, families, and significant others.
- Serves as an information resource to students, healthcare professionals, patients, and the public.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making referrals as necessary.
- May participate in research and related activities.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in New Jersey.
- Current Nurse Practitioner certification in Oncology.
- Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Eligible for hospital privileges with at least 1-2 years' experience in the Nurse Practitioner role preferred.
Salary is based on experience and qualifications. Estimated salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year.
