- Shifts: Days (3pm-11.30pm)
- Healthcare Setting: Medical Laboratory
- Maintains section accreditation standards for accreditation TJC and AABB as appropriate and state/federal licensure. Interprets regulatory, accrediting agency, and licensure standards, requirements or guidelines for Laboratory section(s) and translates requirements into policies and procedures, initiates corrective action as soon as deficiency is identified
- Ensures quality assurance processes meet or exceed CLIA (42 CFR 493.1449) requirements for analyses performed in their section, Enrols in an HHS approved proficiency testing program commensurate with the services offered; Selects proficiency testing products
- Selects, validates, and implements technologies and test methodologies, ensuring compliance with applicable law, regulation, and standards.
- Demonstrates financial responsibility by monitoring instrument/reagent/maintenance contracts and providing recommendations to manager/director
- Bachelor Degree; Including 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of biological science (with one semester in microbiology), 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of chemistry (with one semester in organic or biochemistry), one semester (one quarter) of mathematics
- Credential(s): Certified Medical Technologist
- Experience: Required: 4 years' experience in specialty area, and one year supervisory experience such as a charge technologist or Lead Tech (total 5 yrs)
