Job Description :
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Medical Technologist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our hospital-based laboratory team. This role involves performing high complexity CLIA testing, evaluating and interpreting test results, and ensuring the accuracy and suitability of patient samples. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical skills and judgment to work independently in diverse and complex testing situations, providing critical support to patient care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform all levels of testing, including CLIA-defined high complexity tests.
- Troubleshoot and resolve testing discrepancies, providing specialized expertise in microbiology, transfusion medicine, molecular biology, and infectious diseases.
- Ensure quality control and accuracy of lab instruments and equipment.
- Educate and train new employees, lab staff, and students, and assist with ongoing staff development.
- Interpret lab reports and quality control data for accuracy before results are released.
- Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, and the Laboratory Medical Director to provide limited test utilization information and clinical interpretations.
- Participate in inspections, regulatory compliance (CAP, CLIA), and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain inventory levels and ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Assist the Laboratory Manager with ensuring compliance and performance quality measures.
