Mobile Medical Assistant (Wound Care) - Arlington, VA
Schedule: Full-time
Shift: Day shift
Responsibilities:
Assist in the assessment and management of patients with wounds, including dressing changes and application of topical treatments.
Monitor and document patients' wound healing progress and report any concerns to the supervising clinician.
Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to individuals with varying degrees of wound severity.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Schedule patient appointments and manage the wound care team's calendar.
Ensure all medical supplies and equipment are stocked and organized.
Educate patients and their families about wound care practices, prevention, and self-care techniques.
Provide information on maintaining a healthy lifestyle to promote healing.
Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices in wound care.
Travel to various patient locations using a company vehicle or personal transportation.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Previous experience in wound care is required
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in wound care techniques and knowledge of infection control practices.
