The Network Engineer, or Network Systems Engineer, is responsible for creating IT networks for businesses. Their duties include using their IT knowledge to develop company networks, coordinating with company leadership to identify network needs and providing assistance to employees and other individuals on how to use the network effectively.

Our Network Engineer
The Network Engineer, or Network Systems Engineer, is responsible for creating IT networks for businesses. Their duties include using their IT knowledge to develop company networks, coordinating with company leadership to identify network needs and providing assistance to employees and other individuals on how to use the network effectively.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintaining computer networks including VPNs, routers, switches, firewalls, network related SaaS, VoIP, and other physical hardware/software.
- Installing and configuring network equipment.
- Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.
- Adapt to changing business needs, provide accurate and consistent data, implementing organizational data sharing while maintaining affordable costs.
- Envision solutions to complex problems and be able to explain and demonstrate them to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Regularly evaluate hardware, and software – EOL/EOS, Maintenance, Patching, Contracts, etc.
- Monitor the organization privacy and security.
- Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Offer guidance in network infrastructure.
- Architect secure and robust solutions with redundancy & disaster recovery in mind.
- Identify problems and recommend solutions using evidence-based, data driven analysis.
- Produce estimates and lead the execution of approved work streams and tasks.
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
- Implementing disaster recovery procedures
- Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
- Communication: Conveying information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message, listening actively to others.

- Technology Savvy: Leveraging one’s practical knowledge and understanding of recent technology tools, solutions, and trends to improve work results, solve work problems, and take advantage of new business opportunities.
- Expert Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of network services and networks.
- Expert Knowledge and production experience in designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and administering network & security infrastructure.
- In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, WAN, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Strong understanding of IGMP, SD-WAN, BGP
- Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
- Knowledge on monitoring and improving infrastructure performance.
- Able to produce Entity-Relationship Diagrams
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated networking reports to management and other IT partners.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation.
- Up to 30% travel
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5 – 7 years of qualified work experience required; Cisco CCNP a plus.
