Provecho - Busser/Food Runner

Position Overview: Provecho, a fine-casual restaurant located in the heart of the historic district in Downtown Crown Point is known for its delectable cuisine and welcoming ambiance, is seeking an enthusiastic Busser to join our team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry. As a Busser at Provecho, you will work closely with our serving staff, ensuring efficient food service, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and contributing to the overall exceptional dining experience we provide to our valued guests.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Servers: Collaborate with our serving team to deliver outstanding service to our guests. Clear tables efficiently, preparing them for new diners and ensuring smooth service transitions.
• Food Runner: Swiftly and accurately deliver dishes from our kitchen to guests' tables. Present each dish with attention to detail, adhering to Provecho's presentation standards.
• Table Maintenance: Clear and clean tables promptly after guests leave, including removing used dishes, glassware, and utensils. Reset tables with clean tableware and linens to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Beverage Support: Play a role in maintaining beverage stations and drink offerings. Keep water glasses filled and assist servers in keeping the drink area organized and stocked.
• Guest Assistance: Respond courteously and promptly to guest requests, offering assistance with seating, directions, and other inquiries to enhance their dining experience.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the dining area by sweeping and mopping floors, wiping surfaces, and ensuring a tidy environment. Properly dispose of trash and maintain a neat appearance of the restaurant.
• Team Collaboration: Work harmoniously with servers, kitchen staff, and management, promoting effective communication and ensuring seamless operations.
• Supplies Replenishment: Keep service and bussing stations well-supplied with essentials such as napkins, utensils, condiments, and cleaning items.
• Attention to Detail: Pay meticulous attention to detail when setting tables and maintaining the dining area, ensuring consistency and excellence.
• Menu Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with our menu offerings to support servers in suggesting specials or additional items, potentially enhancing guest experience and sales.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety and sanitation protocols to uphold a hygienic and secure dining environment for both guests and colleagues.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for enhancing service efficiency and guest satisfaction, sharing valuable feedback with management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Entry-level experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is a plus, but not required.
• Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment, maintaining professionalism and composure.
• Excellent communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and carry items up to 25 pounds.
• Flexibility in availability, including weekends and holidays.
