Description
The Occupational Therapist (OT) is part of an inter-professional team that follows a collaborative treatment model. The Occupational Therapist provides direct and consultative services for children with developmental, sensory, and motor disorders. Determine specific needs for children who display delays or difficulties in daily living skills, fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and participation in meaningful activities.
Job Functions
- Complete comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and ongoing progress reports
- Plan and develop evidence-based interventions to promote independence in daily activities
- Provide center-based and direct and indirect occupational therapy
- Plan and facilitate groups targeting motor skills, sensory integration, and social participation
- Complete clinical documentation for ongoing treatment planning and insurance billing
- Provide consultation and coaching to Behavior Technicians and other team members
- Communicate with parents and other team members
- Collaborate regularly with BCBAs and SLPs
- Provide parent and staff training on strategies to promote independence and participation in daily activities
Qualifications
PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school required
- Maintenance of a valid MA Occupational Therapy license
- Interest in working within a collaborative ABA model required
- Experience with working with children with ASD preferred
- Follow MA State and AOTA ethical guidelines
- Experience supervising a COTA
- Preferred experience with feeding using the SOS approach
- CPR/BLS preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong organizational skills
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to occasionally lift children, materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, sitting, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Monday through Friday, with varying hours each day
- Shifts will be scheduled between 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, depending on the needs of the clients and the clinic
