Description
The Speech and Language Pathologist is part of an inter-professional team that follows a collaborative treatment model. The speech pathologist provides diagnostic, remedial and consultative services for children with communicative disorders; determines specific needs of children who display speech, language and hearing difficulties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
- Complete comprehensive speech and language assessments and ongoing progress reports
- Plan and develop evidence-based interventions
- Provide center-based and telepractice direct and indirect speech and language therapy
- Provide AAC services including assessment, intervention, maintenance, and programming
- Plan and facilitate social skills groups
- Complete clinical documentation for ongoing treatment planning and insurance billing
- Provide consultation and coaching to Behavior Technicians
- Communicate with parents and other stakeholders regularly
- Collaborate regularly with BCBAs
- Providing parent and staff trainings
Qualifications
PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Master’s degree in speech and language pathology from an accredited school required
- Interest in working within a collaborative ABA model required
- Experience with working with children with ASD preferred
- Maintaining a valid MA license; and
- Follow MA State and ASHA ethical guidelines
- CPR/BLS preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong organizational skills
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to occasionally lift children, materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, sitting, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
