Description
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for collecting payments for services and goods that are sold to clients, with a focus on customer satisfaction and administration. Communicates with customers regarding past due invoices, discrepancies, and ensures that all incoming payments are received and processed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to ensure timely customer payments while communicating with management.
- Make customer collection calls regarding past due invoices, overpayments, and short pays.
- Review customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Manage the process for accounts on hold to ensure service department calls or supply orders are released in a timely manner.
- Assist in resolving customer inquiries regarding invoicing and payment process.
- Research payment amounts when they do not match invoices.
- Process daily and weekly reports to maximize collection efforts.
- Prepare bank deposits and process all customer payments in the accounting system.
- Process and apply credit card and ACH payments.
- Provide general clerical support when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED
- 2 years A/R or other accounting positions required.
- Experience in MS Office, Excel and MS Outlook.
- Proactive problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and complete work on-time.
- Strong organization and communication skills, customer service, and results orientation.
- Ability to work as a cooperative and collaborative member of a professional team.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms. The employee uses a computer, copier, fax, and telephone equipment. The employee must be able to sit for a prolonged period. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
