Role Description:
Provence Wine Imports is a looking for a full-time and highly motivated Wine & Spirits Sales Representative, for the Boston/Greater Boston area. The ideal candidate for this role shares a passion for customer service, is exceptionally organized, and thrives in a fast-paced selling environment. As a Sales Representative, you will cultivate and grow on-premise and off-premise account relationships to maximize wine sales through effective planning, selling execution, and timely communication, resulting in the achievement of company goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Achieving monthly/annual sales goals and objectives
- Maintain current retail and restaurant customers through a relationship-based approach, visiting accounts directly and identifying opportunities
- Prospect and solicit new on-premise and off-premise business accounts by doing research and cold-calling potential customers
- Emphasize product features based on customers' needs and having a comprehensive knowledge of Provence Wine Import's current selection of offerings to present/sell products confidently
- Manages customer account receivables by timely processing of payments received and communicating with accounts on aged receivables owed within the proper credit terms
- Understands and works with management on inventory levels by having awareness of current inventory and out of stock situations, communicating any possible fluctuations in demand
- Recommend alternative solutions as needed to create opportunity for volume and profit
- Timely follow-up via email or by phone with customers to ensure the highest level of communication satisfaction
- Participation in virtual weekly sales meetings with management to discuss sales opportunities, account visit schedule, prospect clients, new product information and any other relevant topics
- Educating and administering educational staff trainings with accounts
- Participating in public in-store tastings/wine dinners/promotional events/etc. with customer accounts as opportunities arise
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds occasionally as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in Beverage Retail, Restaurants, and/or Wine and Spirits Wholesale
- Previous experience in sales is required
- Must be results driven with proficient sales and communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Ability to multitask, work independently and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and production processes
- Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Driver's License
- Must be willing to travel locally to visit accounts on-site regularly
