Safety Coordinator
Reports to: Safety Manager - Strasburg
Location: Strasburg Facility-10190 State Route 21 NW Strasburg Ohio 44680
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM

Summary
The safety coordinator should possess the traits of organization, communication, availability, and leadership. This individual will be personally driven by achieving objectives. This is a great opportunity for someone who will bring personal ownership, passion and energy that will be required to help implement ProVia’s safety program and help achieve and then sustain the Star Status in the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program at the Strasburg facility. Candidate must uphold and represent ProVia’s Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Implement ProVia Safety Policy by leading day to day safety operations including implementing VPP committee meetings, training, activities, and resources.
- Maintain systems for tracking safety performance including online hazard reporting/tracking, injury, and illness data, near miss date etc.
- Provide oversight which will include implementing VPP Programs committees and sub-committees by leading and facilitating progress and meaningful changes.
- Maintain required recordkeeping mandated by OSHA, Ohio EPA, and internal committee meetings minutes, annual evaluations, hazard tracking documents.
- Responsible for organizing on site testing that is required from time to time including but not limited to Hearing testing, indoor air quality.
- Organize annual fire drills, Tornado drills and maintain roster management.
- OSHA 30 Hr. training
- Complete new employee safety orientations
- Understand the ProVia Strasburg Fire suppression systems.
- Create first aid training / create a first aid committee at the Strasburg facility.
- Create and present monthly safety training/presentations.
- Flexibility working within the production criteria/schedules.
Qualifications
- Organizational skills are essential to performing this job in a punctual and prompt and effective manner, including working independently.
- Some travel may be required for training which includes safety conferences, OSHA conferences.
- Ability to communicate with management, venders, consultants, and pay close attention to employees which includes being respectful, confidential, effective, and efficient in your dialogue.
- Public Speaking is required.
- Knowledge of Safety/OSHA requirements preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft office.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit or stand, using a desktop computer or a laptop, as well as other office equipment and supplies continuously.
