Our client, a leader in the food industry, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Food Scientist to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative food products that directly impact consumer experiences. As a key member of our innovation team, the Food Scientist will serve as a technical expert and resource for both key customers and internal stakeholders. This role will spearhead the development, optimization, and launch of new food products. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead customer engagements through product demonstrations, technical communication, and presentations.
- Communicate complex technical data (DOE, costing, analysis, etc.) effectively to cross-functional teams.
- Formulate, direct, and coordinate the development of new and improved products, ensuring alignment with plant processes, brand guidelines, and cost targets.
- Proactively identify and resolve product and process challenges, collaborating with vendors on benchtop and commercial-scale projects.
- Partner with Operations, Operational Excellence, Research & Optimization, and Quality Assurance teams to improve product quality, processes, and yield.
- Conduct sensory and shelf-life experiments in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Independently prepare technical data and reports.
- Travel up to 50% to collaborate with teams and customers. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Poultry Science, Engineering, or a related field (strongly preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food processing or a related industry, operations, or continuous improvement.
- Experience working in a food manufacturing facility.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management systems and recipe development software (e.g., SAP).
- Solid understanding of USDA and/or FDA guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Webex).
