Providence Academy is a Private Classical Christian Pre-K through 12 school in Johnson City, TN. We are looking to hire an additional person for our IT Department for the 2023-2024 school year.
TITLE: IT Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology
- Born again Christian who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. (John 3:3, 1 Peter 1:23) Views the Bible as the only inerrant, infallible and inspired Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16).
- High moral character and good attendance record
- Active in a local church, having a record of service and/or leadership in the body of Christ
- Agree with the Providence Academy Mission Statement, Philosophy, and Statement of Faith
- Passionate about the maintenance of hardware and advancement of Information Technology at growing school.
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
POSITION OVERVIEW: The IT Manager is a member of the administrative team within Providence Academy, reporting to the Director of Operations who serves on the senior leadership team. The IT Manager is primarily responsible for managing various daily aspects of information technology, which include information systems management, IT infrastructure maintenance, and end-user support and training. This position demands strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, a high level of initiative, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to support the school's mission and educational objectives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Infrastructure Management: Manage the day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting of the School's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems, ensuring that they are secure, reliable, and scaled to meet the changing needs of the School. Assist the Operations Department with planning for future upgrades and enhancements of overall network hardware and design.
- Information Systems Management: Help ensure the security, privacy, and integrity of the School's information systems, confirming data is stored securely, managed ethically, and accessed only by authorized personnel at the discretion of the DO. Collaborate and consult with departments to research, design, develop, implement, and support information management solutions and integration between systems. Responsible for upkeep and integration of the school’s student information system and relevant integrations.
- IT research and implementation: Assist the Director of Operations in researching and implementing strategic IT plans aligned with the school’s mission and goals, identifying emerging technologies that can enhance learning and support School operations, and ensuring that technology initiatives are integrated with the broader goals of the school.
- User Support: Oversee the School’s Technology Support Specialist. Provide the second level of support to students, employees, and families, by responding to tickets, troubleshooting issues, and providing training to ensure that they are proficient in using the school's technology resources effectively and efficiently.
- Budget and Resource Management: Assist the department’s annual budgeting process and help identify cost-saving opportunities. Manage the departmental inventory and asset management procedures.
- Technology Training: Collaborate with teachers and School leaders to promote effective use of technology, identifying opportunities for improvements and innovation. Provide professional development for employees and ensure that technology supports student learning and engagement to its fullest potential.
- Cooperatively collaborate on projects as directed by the Chief Technology and Security Officer.
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Month Position
Eight (8) hours per day (schedule TBD)/5 days per week. Salary per negotiated agreement
EVALUATION: Annually, by the Director of Operations
