PCA/Caregiver

Job Overview
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of support. This position involves providing compassionate care and assistance to clients in various settings, including home care, retirement homes, and memory care facilities. You will work closely with individuals with disabilities and those requiring assistance with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health or behavior.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Help clients with mobility, including lifting and transferring them safely when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Document client progress and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
• Collaborate with family members and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in home community care, memory care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
• Ability to lift and assist clients safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques.
• Certification in social work or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.
