Overview
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee patrol operations for the Office of Public Safety, including procedures, reports, scheduling, training, complaints, crimes, accidents, and incidents occurring, reported, or observed on tour of duty in accordance with established policies and procedures, and ensure proper and comprehensive reports are prepared, and inspect same for thorough and required information for all patrol operations. (25%)
- Establish best practices for effective shift schedules, time keeping, details, leave requests, daily logs and overtime. (25%)
- Work closely with the payroll department to implement, monitor, and prepare supervisor and officer payroll. (20%)
- Prepare, draft, and revise policies and procedures to ensure proper compliance with college policies and procedures. Prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, procedures, and other written materials. (10)
- Serve as the Public Safety Training Coordinator responsible for researching, designing, and implementing all training for the Office of Public Safety. (10%)
- Oversee incident reports in CAD and RMS to ensure proper and comprehensive reports are prepared and inspect for thorough and required information in accordance with Clery guidelines. (10%)
MARGINAL DUTIES:
- Perform all other duties as may be required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from an accredited institution required.
- Five to seven years of experience in law enforcement, Public Safety or security or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multi-task when dealing with duty schedules, training, and other first responder organizations.
- Ability to work in a team environment with diversity employees with Public Safety and other entities in the college.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
