Job Summary
The Design Engineer I, Electrical will complete routine engineering work on projects of varying sizes under the supervision of experienced engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Adopt a positive attitude of accountability by providing reliable, constructable, affordable, and timely solutions (RCAT) resulting in Providence being the Engineer of Choice
- Perform routine or entry-level engineering tasks neatly, accurately, and efficiently to meet budget hours estimate provided by supervisor
- Prepare engineering calculations and minor designs while developing skills to take professional engineer exam for licensing
- Work on multiple, concurrent projects for various project managers, and sometimes for other branches
- Document project experience for NCEES record to facilitate future licensure
- After gaining experience, prepare hours estimates for project proposals for use by project manager
- Develop communications skills through correspondence and coordination with internal clients
- Attend design meetings, construction meetings, and site visits with experienced engineer
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Participate in continuing education webinars and education sessions
- Participate in networking and Young Professionals events
- Perform other related duties as assigned
