JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Director is responsible for providing supervision and oversight to Case Managers, Case Aide and support staff. The Assistant Director in conjunction with the Director of Supportive Housing will be responsible for the day to day operations as well as compliance with oversight agencies. Provide oversight of Program in absence of Director of Supportive Housing. The goal is to assist residents in obtaining and maintaining overall stability.
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM
RESPONSIBILIITES:
Client/Service Delivery:
- Supervise Case Managers, Case Aide, Security Guards, and support staff;
- Provide guidance on creating goal attainment and positive outcomes by review progress notes, service plans and other documents;
- Provide assistance to program staff on developing and leading workshops, activities and support groups;
- Ensure that the overall needs of all residents (adults and children) are being met in a responsive, culturally competent and compassionate manner;
- Assist with the overall process in facilitating the evaluation of children’s needs (i.e. Educational, Behavioral Health, Medical, etc.) as well as adult residents;
- In conjunction with the Director of Supportive Housing provide daily site operations at all sites:
- Provide on-site Crisis Intervention and De-Escalation;
- Assist in the development of building a network of community partners;
- Work as part of a team to plan and develop resident programs.
Administrative:
- Assist in the on-boarding of program staff;
- Ensure staff keep accurate, up-to-date documentation on all clients, including but not limited to Service Plans, Progress Notes, etc.;
- Assist with any and all data collection systems and reports required by stakeholders;
- Provide assistance with special projects related to service delivery;
- Assist Director of Supportive Housing Program with general operation of the program including but not limited to the daily compliance of agency and stakeholder standards;
- Monitor and maintain Petty Cash as per the Finance Department policies and procedures;
- Monitors maintenance issues in the facility and serve as point person to Maintenance Department to ensure follow-up on those maintenance issues;
- The Assistant Director must be knowledgeable of the intake/discharge and property management process that governs supportive housing in order to provide coverage in the absence of the Director of Supportive Housing.
- ·Alternate with Director on coverage for emergency calls on evenings and weekends.

- Integrate the Sanctuary Model SELF (Safety, Emotional Management, Loss and Future) framework into daily practice to ensure quality care and an effective work environment
REQUIREMENTS
- Licensed Master’s Degree in Social Work (LMSW)
- Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience strongly preferred;
- Three years of experience working with the Mentally Ill population;
- Experience with long-term homeless, low income and diverse populations
- Have working knowledge of major psychiatric disorders and chemical use/abuse/misuse/dependence, in addition to alcohol;
- Competent technology management skills, including proficiency with using Microsoft Office; client database management.
WORK SCHEDULE
The Program Supervisor position is a full time, salaried, exempt position. Hours worked are 8 hours per day 5 days for week to include one evening weekly and possibly a weekend day if there is an event scheduled. Office location for this position is in Brooklyn, New York. Requires travel between Supportive Housing Sites.
SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary for this position is $75,000. Benefits include 14 paid holidays, 3 weeks of vacation, 3 personal days and 12 sick days, early closure proceeding holidays, and a day off annually in recognition of your Birthday.
