The Clinical Lab Supervisor will play a key role in providing excellent patient care by ensuring timely and accurate test results.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the clinical laboratory, including staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure laboratory testing is performed according to established protocols and in compliance with regulatory agencies
- Oversee and ensure the quality control and assurance processes are consistently followed for all laboratory tests.
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment by ensuring laboratory equipment is properly maintained and regularly calibrated.
- Collaborate with other medical and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care through accurate laboratory results.
- Provide troubleshooting assistance to lab technicians and staff as needed, ensuring the resolution of any technical issues or concerns.
- Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures.
- Ensure that laboratory supplies are adequately stocked, and manage inventory to prevent shortages.
Education and Work Experience
- ASCP certification, or equivalent, required.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489).
- Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required
