This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the Med/Surg nursing staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Provide direct patient care and support as needed, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Serve as a clinical resource for staff, providing guidance and support in complex patient care situations.
- Manage patient assignments, ensuring balanced workloads and appropriate staff coverage.
- Oversee admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring smooth transitions and comprehensive patient education.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and maintain unit supplies and equipment, coordinating with supply management as needed.
- Lead unit huddles and shift handoff meetings to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
- Mentor and support the professional development of nursing staff through education, coaching, and feedback.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained current.
- Current ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
