We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PRN Pain Management Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in Kansas City, Kansas. The ideal candidate will provide specialized care to patients experiencing acute and chronic pain, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and quality of life. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, and implement pain management strategies tailored to individual patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patient pain levels and medical histories. Utilize critical thinking to develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, including opioids and non-opioid regimens, utilizing safe practices. Implement non-pharmacological techniques such as biofeedback, guided imagery, and relaxation therapies.
- Work closely with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and enhance pain management protocols. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment adjustments.
- Educate patients and their families on pain management strategies, medication usage, and potential side effects. Provide emotional support and counseling as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records in compliance with regulatory standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance pain management practices.

Education and Work Experience
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Six months of previous clinic setting experience preferred; other areas of experience will be considered on a case by case basis.
- Experience working with an electronic medical records system, preferred.
