Employment Type: Full Time
Hours: 8:00a - 4:30p
The Patient Service Representative duties include, but are not limited to:
- interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits
- schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others
- verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issues
- greets and checks in patients andles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages
- coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing
- must be able to: (1) operate a computer to accurately input and retrieve data; (2) communicate with the population served, staff, and providers utilizing age specific techniques.;(3) maintain proficiency in medical terminology; (4) project a positive and helpful attitude.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
- previous medical setting/hospital experience, preferred
- knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
- customer service experience, preferred
- high school graduate or GED equivalent, required
