RN Clinical Documentation Specialist (Remote) - Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA

The RN Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) is responsible for supporting and facilitating the overall quality of medical record documentation by improving the completeness, accuracy, and reliability of clinical documentation. A key success factor of this process is educating providers through the query process and independently supporting them with education and feedback to accurately reflect the patient's true clinical picture within the medical record. In partnering with the coding team, the CDS will be an expert with ICD-10, MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignment.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Associate of Science in Nursing OR Bachelor's Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Washington Registered Nurse License
  • Registered Nurse License from state of residence
  • 5 years of clinical experience in acute care setting within the last 5 years OR 2-3 years of Clinical Documentation Integrity experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Documentation Specialist (CCDS)
  • Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP)
  • 1 year of understanding of MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignment and fundamentals of establishing a DRG
  • 1 year of ICD-10 experience and/or understanding
  • ICU and/or ED nursing experience in acute care setting

Pay Range: $ 41.74 - $ 77.17

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
