Job Summary:
A well-established Philadelphia law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate with 2 years of insurance coverage litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance coverage analysis, policy interpretation, and litigation in state and federal courts. This role involves working closely with insurers, corporate clients, and policyholders in complex coverage disputes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Litigate insurance coverage disputes, including drafting pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
- Analyze insurance policies (CGL, D&O, E&O, property, professional liability, etc.) and provide coverage opinions.
- Represent clients in state and federal courts in Florida, handling motion practice, depositions, and mediations.
- Conduct legal research on policy exclusions, bad faith claims, and declaratory judgment actions.
- Assist in discovery, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
- Work directly with insurance carriers, claims adjusters, and corporate clients to develop case strategies.
- Manage caseload efficiently, ensuring all deadlines and court requirements are met.
- Provide risk assessment and litigation strategy recommendations to clients.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active PA Bar membership (required).
- Minimum 2 years of litigation experience, focusing on insurance coverage matters.
- Experience handling insurance policy interpretation, declaratory actions, and bad faith claims.
- Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Courtroom experience, including motion hearings and depositions.
- Strong ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and client advocacy skills.
