Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Providence Valdez Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing and evaluating sonographic examinations, providing technical interpretations of sonographic and physiologic data, and assisting physicians in rendering medical diagnoses.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in ultrasound technology, with experience in abdominal, OB/Gyn, and other relevant areas. They will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality ultrasound exams in accordance with established protocols and guidelines
- Evaluate sonographic images and provide technical interpretations to aid in diagnosis
- Obtain clinical histories and perform physical assessments to determine appropriate testing protocols
- Collaborate with clinicians to ensure accurate and efficient care delivery
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Sonography Program or certification with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- National Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) within 1 year of hire
- National Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- At least 9 months of ultrasound coursework experience in abdomen, OB/Gyn, and other relevant areas, including clinical rotations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with breast and vascular ultrasound, including clinical rotations
