Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Research and identify potential funding opportunities from government agencies, corporate foundations, private foundations, and other potential funding sources.
- Write persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization’s mission, goals, and project details.
- Cultivate relationships with potential funders and maintain existing donor relationships.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather information and date for grant proposals.
- Ensure grant proposals are submitted in a timely manner, following all guidelines and requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of grants, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Track and report on grant outcomes, providing updates to funders as required.
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in grant writing and fundraising
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop budgets and financial narratives for grant proposals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to support the organization’s mission.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong research abilities and knowledge of fundraising information sources.
- Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors.
- The ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Proficiency in basic fundraising techniques and strategies.
- Ability to maintain the strictest level of confidentiality.
- Reliability and consistency.
- Proven ability to take responsibility and problem-solve in a proactive manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with employees at all levels in a diverse and dynamic workforce population.
- Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with budget development, program development, and contract agreements.
- Experience with foundation research tools (such as GuideStar, Foundation Center, Instrumentl, etc.)
- Experience with social media is a bonus but not required.

Working Conditions / Environment
- This position is part-time, 16-20 hours per week.
- Works out of Provident’s St. Louis City office, with potential for some remote work once training is completed.?
- Ability to travel to other Provident sites and community-based locations, when needed???
- Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection to work remotely?
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds?
- Have the ability to sit for long periods of time?
- Work hours generally fall between Monday and Friday, 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, with availability to support employees outside of standard work hours, when needed?
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum Experience: One year of grant writing or communication-specific experience is required; two years of experience is preferred.
