Position Title: Behavioral Health Intervention Specialist – School Based
Responsible To: Supervisor, School Based Behavioral Health Intervention
Salary Range: $23.00 to $25.97
Position Type: Full time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Accountabilities
- Develop and foster strong, positive relationships with teachers, counselors, principals, and other school staff to identify students who could benefit from behavioral health interventions and connect them with care.
- Provide individual and group intervention, including but not limited to behavioral health screening assessments, psychoeducation, nontherapeutic counseling, and case management services to students.
- Achieve target number of services provided to the school each month.
- Screen target number of youth each school semester.
- Provide target number of psychoeducational classroom presentations per month.
- Provide presentations to both students and staff on relevant mental health topics.
- Assess and address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement support plans for youth at the school.
- Connect youth and their families with referrals for more intensive behavioral health services and community resources, when appropriate.
- Monitor and track students' progress and provide appropriate interventions.
- Document all services provided to youth and the school in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in a timely manner.

Work Conditions and Environment
- Work schedule is a 40-hour work week during the academic year, with potential for summer school hours.
- Typical work hours include being on site during hours when students are on-site at the assigned school location(s), approximately 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Predominately on-site at one or more school sites in a partner school district. Occasional travel to one or more of Provident’s office locations may be required.
- Must have reliable transportation to all job sites.
- As this is a community-based position, must be able to independently navigate worksite(s), including navigating throughout the school buildings to escort youth to and from appointments, observe classrooms, and provide presentations.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to physically interact with youth in age-appropriate activities during services (ex. play therapeutic games).
- Must have stamina to provide live, in-person presentations in small to large group settings for 30-60 minutes.
- Attend in-person trainings on site at one or more Provident office or community-based locations, throughout the St. Louis metro area, as needed.
- Coordinate schedule and work tasks with supervisor for days where Provident is open but schools are not in session.
Salary : $23 - $26
