Reports to:
- Manager: VP, Payroll Administrator
- Senior Manager: SVP, Human Resources
Essential Functions:
Assists in the administration of payroll and various employee benefit plans, such as life, medical, dental, and vision.
- Responsible for Section 125 and COBRA.
- Responsible for calculating SFR commissions.
- Responsible for the accuracy of the data input into Employee Census on a monthly basis.
- Enrolls new employees in benefit plans, handles benefit status changes, reconciles monthly benefit carrier invoices, and processes premiums payments for all benefit vendors.
- Assists with annual benefit renewal and open enrollment.
- Manages COBRA enrollments and monthly expense tracking.
- Assists Payroll with semi-monthly payroll processing.
- Calculates commissions for Single Family Residential (SFR) to be paid on each pay date.
- Works with Accounting and SFR on any commission calculation review of work or discrepancies.
- Assists in other areas of HR, including special projects and sustaining work such as assisting employees and filing.
- Answers the telephone and directs callers to appropriate members of Executive Offices and Human Resources staff.
- Performs filing, photocopying, and scanning; provides general clerical assistance.
- Responsible for maintaining high level of job performance to meet and/or exceed the standard for this position in order to ensure achievement of the Department’s goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not generally supervise another staff member.
Required Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in payroll processing.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is a plus.
- Certification in payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional - CPP) is a plus.
Skills Required
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., UKG, ADP, Paychex, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Starting Pay Rate: $31.00/Hour
