What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthopedic Surgeon position at Provider Solutions & Development?
Island Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible experienced or fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon with a focus on upper extremity (shoulder replacement and hand) to join our Island Orthopedics Clinic. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills to develop relationships with orthopedic surgeons, referring physicians and hospital staff. Island Health has provided orthopedic surgery to our community for over twenty years, this is a unique opportunity to be part of establishing a new orthopedic practice at Island Health.
Island Health, a Level III trauma center and Level II stroke center, is a 43-bed facility in Anacortes, Washington with 170 board-certified physicians and providers. With a -five-star Medicare rating, Island Health was named a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. It also received service excellence awards in Orthopedic Surgery, Joint Replacement, Spinal Fusion Surgery, Obstetrics and Emergency Care.

- 4-Day work week
- General Orthopedic Hospital Call Coverage required
- Work closely with cohesive, multi-specialty group providers with support staff
- Integrated Meditech Expanse EMR platform, utilized throughout the organization
- Compensation is between $712,582 and $855,098 per year. The posted salary range reflects the range of total compensation and may include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, hospital/ED call stipends, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position.
- Sign on bonus $30,000
- Active Washington State Medical License or the ability to obtain one.
- Competitive base salary guarantee and productivity incentives the first year of employment combined with comprehensive CME & Professional Society allowance; malpractice coverage, Washington State Medical License, DEA and Medical Staff dues paid by Island Health.
