What are the responsibilities and job description for the Primary Care Medical Director position at Provider Solutions & Development?
Providence Medical Group (PMG) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physician leader in Southern Oregon. The Primary Care Area Medical Director (AMD) will be responsible for leadership, management, and direction of activities supporting provider services. This position reports to the Chief Medical Officer of PMG-Oregon and provides medical leadership for PMG-Southern Oregon primary care clinics, which include the areas of clinical strategy, provider leadership support and development, and provider recruitment and retention. The Primary Care AMD will also work closely with the Director of Clinical Operations to enhance the operational performance for our primary care clinics. Given the matrixed environment and complexities of healthcare systems, the Primary Care AMD plays a key role in developing relationships at both a regional and local level. They will help to facilitate greater integration across the medical group to increase quality, decrease the total cost of care, and improve our patient experience. The Primary Care AMD supports provider wellbeing, advocates for providers within the medical group, and provides coaching and support to provider Leads and Clinic Medical Directors. They will also lead initiatives to ensure the stability of primary care services through process improvement and innovative care models.

- Full-time position, 1.0 FTE (0.50 FTE administrative 0.50 FTE clinical).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of physician leadership experience including management of provider peers is required.
- Must be board-certified in primary specialty.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physician management in finance, clinical strategy, operations, recruitment and retention processes, and primary care team-based care model.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative work relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
