Position Summary:
Our client seeks a Project Manager & Scrum Master to drive project execution while ensuring Agile best practices across teams. This role requires balancing the responsibilities of a traditional project manager—managing timelines, risks, and stakeholders—with those of a scrum master—coaching Agile teams, removing impediments, and fostering continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is an adaptable leader who can operate in both structured project environments and Agile-driven teams, ensuring seamless collaboration between technical and business stakeholders.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management Responsibilities:
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and risk management strategies.
- Track project progress, manage dependencies, and proactively mitigate risks.
- Oversee resource allocation, budget tracking, and vendor coordination (if applicable).
- Communicate project status to leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
Scrum Master Responsibilities:
- Serve as Scrum Master for Agile teams, facilitating key ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives).
- Remove roadblocks and dependencies to enhance team efficiency and productivity.
- Coach teams on Agile best practices, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Product Owners to ensure well-defined and prioritized backlogs.
- Promote transparency through Agile metrics (burndown charts, velocity, cycle time).
- Advocate for Agile principles while balancing organizational project management needs.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements:
- 5 years of experience as a Project Manager and/or Scrum Master in technology-driven environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) and traditional project management methodologies (Waterfall, Hybrid).
- Proficiency with project management and Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, Trello).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and Agile teams simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP, or SAFe certifications.
- Experience in Agile transformations or coaching Agile teams at scale.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud technologies.
