JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our Agency is dedicated to hiring people we can trust with our own families. Our employees deliver various personal care and services in accordance with an established plan of care and provides for the personal needs and comfort of patients in their homes.
Qualifications & Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- English (Required) and Spanish (Preferred)
- One year-full time experience (preferred) in personal care or an institutional setting, such as a hospital or nursing home, or one-year full-time experience within the last five years in direct client care in a home care agency setting; or
- Evidence of sympathetic attitude toward elderly care
- Demonstrated ability to read, write and carry out directions.
- Evidence of maturity and ability to deal effectively with job demands.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Participate in professional meetings when directed.
- Ability to work closely supervised to ensure competence in providing client care.
- Must have a criminal history check conducted prior to being offered a position with the agency
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal hygiene assistance
- Provide medication reminders
- Assist clients with ambulation
- Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals
- Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
- Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
- Other duties as assigned
Ability to:
- Perform tasks involving activity which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing.
- Deal effectively with stress.
- Work assigned hours per week.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
Additional Requirements:
- Assess and communicate with ill clients, co-workers and general public.
- Must have a passion for caregiving and a desire to help others
- Must be neat in appearance and practice good personal hygiene.
- Must have a reliable means of transportation
- Must have a valid driver's license for errand services
