Description : Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking Summer School - Paraprofessionals for Summer 2025. Summer School - Paraprofessionals will support students and the school teams to ensure student needs are met. Summer School - Paraprofessionals must have the required endorsements for this position. They may opt for one or both summer sessions and must commit to attend professional development prior to the beginning of the summer session. Additional dates may be outlined by the Summer School Administrator to ensure a smooth summer school program.
Qualifications :
Must hold State and NCLB statement of approval issued by the Illinois State Board of Education
Desired Experience or Training :
Bachelor's Degree
Previous experience as a teacher's aide

Schedule :
Classes meet Monday through Thursday. No class on Fridays.
Session goes from 8 : 00 am - 1 : 00 pm
Staff report from 7 : 45 am - 1 : 15 pm
Responsibilities :
- Provide extra assistance to students with special needs, such as non-English speaking students or those with physical and mental disabilities
- Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers
- Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums or on field trips
- Enforce administration policies and rules governing students
- Observe students' performance and record relevant data to assess progress
- Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts
- Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage
- Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers using lectures, discussions or supervised role-playing methods
- Organize and label materials and display students' work in a manner appropriate for their eye levels and perceptual skills
o Distribute tests and homework assignments and collect them when they are completed
o Be a positive role model for students
o Perform other duties as directed by the Building Principals, and the supervising classroom teacher
