What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preop Recovery RN position at Provo Surgery Center?
JOB TITLE: SDS Nurse
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Assists in provision of nursing care to patients in an Ambulatory Surgical Center setting. Assumes total responsibility for patient care in accordance with physician's orders and centers policies. Duties include preop - checking in patients, vital signs, IV starts, medication administration. PACU - recovering patients directly out of surgery, medication administration, critical care thinking. Postop - Medication administration, preparing patients for discharge, discharge teaching. Prescreen - calling patients for upcoming surgeries going through health history, giving instructions. Also helping turn over rooms to get ready for the next patients, etc. Schedule is variable days for 36-40 hours per week. Must have the ability to flex start time 2 hours earlier or later depending on the surgery day and start times.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing; current state RN License.
- BLS required.
- ACLS preferred.
- Surgical Services experience, preferred
