We are seeking an experienced and driven B2B Business Development Specialist to help us identify and secure new business opportunities, particularly within the government contracting sector.
Job Overview:
The B2B Business Development Specialist will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, expanding our client base, and managing relationships with key decision-makers, particularly in the aerospace, defense, and government sectors. You will be instrumental in driving growth through US government contracting, securing new projects, and maintaining strong relationships with government agencies, prime contractors, and other industry partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Government Contracting Focus: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with government agencies (DOD and other federal agencies) and prime contractors in the aerospace and defense sector.
- Lead Generation: Develop and execute strategies for generating new leads through networking, cold outreach, and attending industry events and conferences.
- Proposal Development: Work closely with internal teams to create and deliver winning proposals, quotations, and presentations for government contracts and aerospace industry clients.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with government procurement officers, prime contractors, and other key stakeholders within the aerospace and defense sectors.
- Market Research: Conduct detailed market research to identify new opportunities, monitor competitors, and stay updated on government contracting trends and regulations.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations and manage contract discussions to close deals, ensuring compliance with government contracting guidelines.
- Sales Targets & KPIs: Meet or exceed sales targets and key performance indicators related to government contracts, aerospace projects, and B2B sales.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with operations, engineering, and production teams to ensure smooth project delivery and client satisfaction once contracts are secured.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in B2B sales or business development, preferably in the aerospace, defense, or manufacturing sectors.
- Proven experience working with US government contracting (DOD, NASA, federal, or state agencies), including familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and other government regulations.
- Strong understanding of the aerospace industry, CNC machining, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated success in generating leads, closing deals, and driving revenue growth, particularly in the government contracting space.
- Experience with proposal writing, government bidding processes, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and sales tracking software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with DoD contracting.
- Experience with FAR, DFARS, ITAR compliance, and other government regulations.
- Network within the aerospace, defense, and government contracting industries.
