The simulation infrastructure team is building the foundation for our highly integrated, simulation-driven approach to stellarator design. Our core data, compute, and analysis infrastructure enables research and development across the company. In this role, you will collaborate directly with fusion experts, engineers, and AI researchers to create tools that foster seamless teamwork. If you have strong software design skills, a focus on product quality, and a proactive mindset, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to a future powered by fusion.

• An experienced technical lead with a strong foundation in computer science, engineering or a related field (master’s plus 8 years, or equivalent experience);
• Proficient in at least two of Python, C , or TypeScript;
• Experienced leading end-to-end/full-stack system design, ideally within an environment supporting physics, engineering, or AI teams;
• Experienced with the development and management of data infrastructure and processing pipelines in large-scale cloud environments;
• Driven to solve complex problems with simple solutions and a desire to contribute to clean energy;

• Understanding the goals and challenges of our research and design teams;
• Leading the development of the infrastructure and tools that support our simulation and data-driven approach;
• Contributing and reviewing code across our full simulation and analysis stack;
• Leading the integration and adoption of analysis and visualization tools - enhancing our team’s abilities to collaborate;
• Defining and implementing cross-org software engineering best practices, development and deployment tools;
• Mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
