Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front office operations, ensuring a smooth patient experience from the moment they arrive. This role requires proficiency in to handle patient inquiries, manage appointments, and coordinate with medical staff effectively.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Manage appointment scheduling and confirmations using electronic health record systems such as ECW (E Clinical Works), Athenahealth.
- Perform insurance verification and medical collections as necessary.
- Maintain patient records accurately and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle phone systems efficiently, providing clear information and addressing patient queries with professionalism.
- Collaborate with dental or medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Utilize software platforms like Eaglesoft for dental office management when applicable.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized front office environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is a must.
- Familiarity with medical collection processes and insurance verification is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, Athenahealth, or Eaglesoft.
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills are essential for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Experience in medical office management is a plus.
