ABOUT THE COMPANY
Proximo Spirits, Inc., is a $1B American multinational alcoholic beverage company, with its headquarters in Jersey City, New Jersey. It is a major distributor of tequila and other spirits, best known for Jose Cuervo, the world's largest-selling tequila brand. With over 300 employees, the Lawrenceburg, IN facility (Proximo Distillers Indiana - PDI) bottles about 15 million cases a year for all North America.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Reporting to the Sr. Technical Manager, the Facilities and CAPEX Manager will be based in Lawrenceburg, IN and manage all aspects of the facility operations and capital expenditures. This position is responsible for ensuring the facilities are maintained to the highest standards to support business operations efficiently and effectively. She/He manages the planning, budgeting, and execution of capital projects to enhance and expand the facilities as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all company facilities, including offices, manufacturing plants, warehouses, and other properties.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure that all facilities are maintained in optimal condition, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor and manage facility budgets, including operating expenses and capital expenditures related to facility maintenance and upgrades.
- Maintain the fire suppression system, ensuring its proper functionality, and ensuring compliance with all applicable legal requirements, codes and industry standards.
CAPEX PLANNING/EXECUTION
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify facility needs and develop capital expenditure plans to support business objectives.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed capital projects, including facility expansions, renovations, and equipment upgrades.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements, and oversee project execution from initiation to completion.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure that capital projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards.
COMPLIANCE and RISK MANAGEMENT
- Ensure that all facilities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to facility operations and capital projects, including safety hazards, regulatory compliance issues, and budget overruns.
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize facility operations and mitigate risks proactively.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
- Collaborate closely with other departments, including Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Human Resources, to align facility management and CAPEX initiatives with overall business objectives.
- Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders to provide updates on facility projects, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence within the facilities management team and across the organization.
IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Food and Beverage GMPs.
- Proven experience in facilities management, capital project management, and/or construction management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a dynamic business environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Solid understanding of relevant regulations and standards related to facility operations, safety (Class I Div I Environment), and environmental compliance.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Certification in facilities management (e.g., CFM) or project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
