Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Specialty Pharmacy Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the management, oversight, and operations of all aspects within the pharmacy consistent with professional, ethical, and legal standards of proper pharmacy practice.
- Supervising pharmacy staff involved in the pharmacy workflow, including hiring, training, data entry, verification, and dispensing of medications.
- Managing drug purchasing and inventory controls of the pharmacy.
- Ensuring that billing and remittance documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintaining knowledge of therapeutics, pricing, and patient assistance programs.
- Monitoring and making recommendations to fulfillment staff on inventory management.
- Assisting in the development of a management reporting dashboard.
- Creating ad-hoc reports for management.
- Addressing HCP pharmaceutical issues and drug information questions.
- Ensuring literacy levels of patient information are appropriate for consumers.
- Developing and implementing patient and medication therapy management programs.
- Reviewing, editing, and approving all marketing and website information prior to publication.
- Ensuring confidentiality of patient information and their records, and destruction of relevant documentation containing patient information.
Requirements
To succeed as our Senior Specialty Pharmacy Manager, you will need:
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant specialty pharmacy experience.
- 1 year of supervisory pharmacy management experience preferred.
- Possession of a current unrestricted and valid pharmacist license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Controlled Substance license and Immunization certification preferred.
- Ability to supervise pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and establish collaborative relationships with physicians, patients, clinical, and administrative staff.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex new software.
