What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Leader I (Porterville) position at ProYouth Expanded Learning?
A Program Leader I is responsible for managing a classroom of 20 students , ensuring the safety of students and facilitating daily implementation of each program. Programs may include but are not limited to sports, STEM, Coding, nutrition, outdoor education, and creative arts.
Primary Role and Responsibilities
- Support student mastery of new skills through project-based learning
- Maintain a culture of safety and well-being with students in both the classroom and outdoor setting
- Establish clear, consistent expectations for behavior and positive discipline.
- Ensure that every student feels known, accepted, valued and respected.
- Build and maintain a high level of trust through effective communication methods.
- Model and promote the mission and values of ProYouth through appropriate appearance, words and actions.
- Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g., classroom, playground, library, etc.) for the purpose of enforcing school and ProYouth expectations and procedures regarding student behavior and participation and/or providing a safe, respectful and positive learning environment.
- Work in conjunction with the Site Director and all program staff to ensure that activities are exciting and relevant to youth as well as well-thought out and organized.
- Address issues, concerns, and challenges to immediate supervisor
