The Estimator Assistant is responsible for coordinating the execution of bid documents that are accurate, complete and timely to ensure that PCC is a responsive bidder.
Primary Responsibilities
Gathers signatures, notary stamps, bid bonds, key personnel resumes, past project experience information, insurance documents, and other related information for bid packages
Assembles and conducts thorough proofreading of bid packages to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance of proposal requirements
Ensure adherence to proposal deliverables and submission of high quality proposals
Manages, maintains, and organize subcontractor and vendor contacts
Search for project bid opportunities and presents those opportunities to the
Senior
Estimator(s).
Manages the bid schedule, estimating team calendar, and estimating drive folders
Solicits subcontractors and suppliers for quotes and execute follow up phone calls as needed.
Leads the charge on good faith efforts (GFEs) for projects with minority goals
Assists with bid closeout process
Gathers and submits all post-bid documents required by our clients
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proficient with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook etc)
- Must have good business written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
- Must be fluent in English
- Strong customer service skills
- Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
- Great attention to detail
- Exceptional time management skills as well as the ability to prioritize workload
Education and / or Experience
2 years’ experience in the construction industry with basic understanding of the bidding process and public agency requirements
- High School Diploma / GED required
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Notary Public Certification is a plus
