Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between customers and the service department, ensuring that all service needs are met efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of truck repair services, and the ability confidently explain proposed repairs and upsell additional services when appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their service needs.
- Document customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately.
- Prepare detailed service estimates and communicate them clearly to customers.
- Upsell additional services based on vehicle maintenance needs, including PM services, inspections, and air brake services.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain records of all transactions.
- Follow up with customers regarding their service experience and address any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized service area to enhance customer experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in truck repair or service writing is preferred.
- Knowledge of truck service management practices and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Strong upselling skills with the ability to identify customer needs effectively.
- Familiarity with cash handling processes and point-of-sale systems.
- Understanding of basic truck components including air brakes, PM services, state and federal inspections, and aftertreatment systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
