Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Trailer Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and be proficient in the repair and maintenance of trailers and related equipment. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailers, including welding and assembly tasks.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to air brakes, shocks, struts, and suspension systems.
- Conduct brake repairs and ensure all components are functioning properly.
- Work with industrial equipment and farm machinery as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Maintain and repair fleet equipment.
- Perform required inspections (maintenance and repairs, on all trailers).
- Maintenance includes lubrication, sensor cleaning and replacement, tire rotations and replacements, valve adjustments, safety inspections, and brake repairs.
- Verify that equipment complies with federal and state vehicle requirements and safety standards.
- Perform repair work on trailers such as breakdowns, malfunctions, and emergency roadside repairs in a safe, efficient, and quality manner.
- Keep up-to-date files and ensure the Company is in compliance with DOT regulations.
Experience
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in trailer repair or similar fields.
- Familiarity with dealership practices is a plus.
- Experience working with air brake systems, suspension components, and brake repair techniques.
- Ability to effectively use tools and equipment necessary for trailer maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
