ABOUT THE ROLE:
A Day in the Life:
PRT is seeking a Full time Forest Nursery Leadhand to be based in Cottage Grove, OR at PRT Cottage Grove. In addition to involvement in the day-to-day operations associated with container seedling production, this position will require lead admin responsibilities. PRT relies on accurate collection of data and entry to lead our team to success. This includes, but is not limited to, collecting and analyzing inventory data and seedlings measurement data. The Nursery Leadhand will also be responsible for reconciling and entering in payroll, assisting in shipping and receiving, and mapping the cold storage facility during packing season. The Nursery Leadhand will perform these duties while adhering to the occupational health and safety standards. This engaging, high paced, position offers a safe work environment and an opportunity for a career that will make a positive change in the world. Candidates may be interviewed and tested to assess their abilities and qualifications for this position.

- Constant communications between the Operations and Production teams
- Encourage innovation and continuous improvement
- Promote collaboration and teamwork at all levels
- Set targets (i.e., production, timelines) and evaluate achievement
WORK STATUS: Full-time Hourly
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING:
Required/Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 3-year nursery experience with crew supervision involvement
- Must be a US citizen or have the ability to legally work in the USA
- Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License and reliable transportation
- Must have appropriate work attire for varying weather conditions
- Must have good manual dexterity and eyesight
- Must have a team-oriented personality with a positive attitude
- Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Must have commitment to quality and safety
- Must have strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Ability to speak, write and read in English and Spanish
- Ability to operate farm equipment i.e., forklifts and Skid-steer equipment
- Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to excellence.
