PRT is seeking a skilled Forest Nursery Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our nursery operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality seedlings are produced while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves managing seed stratification and treatment, planting, irrigation, fertilizer/chemical application, and harvesting. You will also assist with daily tasks necessary to maintain equipment, buildings, and develop the seedling crop. Strong mechanical skills with farm equipment and knowledge of equipment maintenance, electrical, welding, and irrigation operation are essential for this position.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture, or forestry being a plus. They must also possess strong people management skills, verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience operating forklifts, farm tractors, seedling lifters, and various other nursery equipment is an asset.
